Lessons take place at either the students home, OPERA America's National Opera Center, located at 330 7th Ave 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001, or my apartment in Newport, Jersey City. Students must be located in Manhattan for in-home lessons.

When you or your child learns piano with me, they're gaining access to methods that have been shaped by my studies at Juilliard and Eastman with legendary mentors such as Julian Martin, Alan Chow, Nelita True, and Boris Slutsky. These approaches, which I used to succeed in competitions such as the Kuleshov, are tailored to help learners of all ages discover the joy and discipline of playing the piano.
I've spent years refining these techniques to ensure that each lesson is both effective and engaging, helping you or your child develop a lasting connection to music.
Want to learn to play by ear? Compose? Perform at a high level? Whatever your goals are, I believe a strong understanding of all aspects of music will help you achieve them, so I offer a tailored yet well-rounded approach. I don't just cover technique or note learning in lessons — I also teach music theory, history, and ear training, as well as musical analysis and interpretation.
This comprehensive education allows you to master the art of music making and develop a lifelong appreciation of music.
When it comes to choosing a piano teacher, finding someone you can trust is everything, especially for lessons in your own home. By choosing to work with me, you're putting your trust in a teacher who has been vetted by the best in the field.
I'm proud to have earned the trust of prestigious institutions, such as The Juilliard School and Steinway and Son's, as well as the top in-home music lesson companies in Manhattan: Music to Your Home and West Amadeus Music Studio. I am also a member of the Music Teachers National Association, and I have been listed on its music teacher directory.
Me and my first teacher, Maria Meirelles
A few months later, I started taking formal lessons with Maria Meirelles, an accomplished Detroit pianist and teacher, who came out of retirement to take me as a student. She worked with me to develop strong technical foundations and effective practice habits, as well as a deep love for music.*
My late start has given me a better understanding of how to help my students improve in the early stages; because I vividly remember the challenges I faced and the strategies I used to overcome them, I can relate to my students' frustrations and provide practical, tailored guidance.
From my performance at Carnegie Hall as a prize winner at the New York Piano Competition and Festival
Some of these prizes include first place at the Kuleshov International Piano Competition, third place in the Thousand Islands International Piano Competition, and honorable mention at the Marian Garcia International Piano Competition.
By sharing the strategies and mindset I employed to perform at the highest level, I help my students develop the tools and mindset they need to attain their goals.
At Juilliard and Eastman, I took pedagogy courses on the science of learning modalities, the science of motivation, and strategies to communicate effectively with various age groups. I have also spent countless hours pouring through neuroscience studies, learning how the brain learns motor movements.
I've taught over 20 students in the NYC area, and I view every lesson I give as an opportunity to hone my teaching skills.
